Suburbia Part 1

Well folks, I'm back in the blogging saddle again, after I took a little time off while baking a zillion cupcakes for our friends' wedding (300 to be exact).  Then, the Mister was headed off to the annual seventh grade camping trip that lasted five days. In order to further enjoy the excitement of solo parenting for five days, note the sarcasm, I headed up to my folks' place for some friendly daughter mooching and help with the Wolf.

With our friends' wedding over and all 300 cupcakes consumed, it was time to head to my parents' house.
Grandpa busted out my old wagon, then Wolf helped Gramps replace the batteries in his toy rocket.
I popped over to Rebecca's house from Consider My Dear to say a quick hello and get a glimpse into her creative space (she has so many cute things!)
Since we live in the worst place for shopping in the world, I normally try to make a stop at H&M to see what the cool people are wearing. This ensures that me and Wolfie don't slip into the central Illinois townie look. A.K.A Sweatpants with some word on the butt and a North Face jacket.

Stay tuned for part 2!
Cheers,
Deb

Tis' The Season For Group Sales

It's my favorite time of year, that's right, it's rummage sale season!  Two of the local churches put on a huge rummage sale that is held at the county 4-H barns. This past Saturday was crazy, there were tables and tables of junk/treasures/knick-knacks. Now this particular sale isn't my absolute favorite one, but a good practice run for the big Second Presbyterian Church sale. This sale never fails me, and the prices are CRAZY good, it's like Christmas morning for thrifters!  But, here are the finds from this past Saturday's sale, Enjoy!

Can't wait to see what this Saturday's rummage sale will have for me.

Cheers,
Deb

Cutie Pie Prints from Lab Partners

I am so excited to share with you a recent purchase, a cute print from Lab Partners. They are a super sweet artsy fartsy couple that makes adorable art together. I spotted there work last week on Alix's (she is one of the big wigs over at Moder Kiddo) Instagram feed and instantly fell in love! To my surprised when I unwrapped my print, they threw in an extra one, which made my day and my wall very happy!

***NOTE: Please ignore that horrible wall color, we are in the process of painting over it ****

Quick Fixes

On Saturday,  I dragged a pathetic shelf out the neighbor's trash.  I have been desperately looking for something similar for Wolfgang's room.  I made my husband drive me to the curb that had the shelf, and he hung his head in embarrassment as I loaded the treasure into our bug.
Not too shabby for a curb find, but this shelf did soak up one and a half cans of spray paint though.  YEEESSH!

One more quick little fixer upper I was working on was updating the jolly trolly lamp.  The lamp was once in my shop, but Wolfie fell in love with it.  Some vintage fabric Mod Podge onto a lamp shade, and we've got ourselves a classic craft.

When Anxiety Attacks

As many of you have seen on Instagram, I took a quick little visit to the ER. I had a bit of a laps in my anxiety disorder, I am a high functioning  bipolar and sometimes it gets the best of me. Saturday evening I came down with a horrible cold and felt so ill I could hardly sleep, I woke up the next day feeling horribly on edge and out of sorts. My husband was retuning to work on Monday (he was on spring break) and Wolfgang has been teething so badly I felt that I would not be able to take care of him since I was so sick. That night my fingers were numb, I was extremely anxious, and I had a fever of 104.0. I needed to go to the ER for some stronger medication.
As a side note I have not had a manic/anxiety (whatever you wanna call it) in about 3 years so don't worry, I am not walking around like a ticking time bomb.  Any of you bipolar?  Then you understand that becoming ill can totally turn you upside-down and make you a nervous wreck.

Thank you again for all your well wishes and feel free to e-mail any question about being bipolar, I dont mind sharing stories and tales.

Cheers,
Deb

UPDATE: I am feeling well again :)
