At The Speed Of Wolf

School is back in session around these parts, which means pops is back at his teaching gig. Even though Wolf and I miss him, it is great to get back to mine and Wolf's pace of life. We are back to our weekly adventuring of thrifting, visiting surrounding small towns, and crafting.  We are also getting very excited about having a new member in our crew. I am taking on the task of being main care taker for our friends baby boy who will be arriving in September. Wolfgang, is gearing up to show this lil' guy choo choo's trucks, and coloring. Since the mister and I are planning on only having the one Wolf cub, we thought this would be a great oppturnity for Wolfgang to learn empathy and better sharing skills. As for me ? I am both nervious and exictied about being in charge of a new little bundle, but am so happy to provide daycare for our friend.

A Rainbow of Choo Choo's

This past weekend we drove two hours and fifty minuets to Union, Illinois to spend  "A Day Out With Thomas". Wolfgang likes Thomas, but loves trains, yes we got to see the blue train, yes we got to wave at him. But, the true excitement for us was to see all the different types of train you can ride at the museum itself.  I also am a huge train nut, so there I was begging like a toddler asking if we can go look/ride a specific train.  For this trip we went with my in-laws, which was perfect because my father in law is also a train nerd. The weather was perfect, and the air was buzzing with excitement, much like a special day at Disneyland.  With the very useful engine chugging in the background and the all familiar Thomas tunes playing, it was a magical day.

So many colorful trains, with amazing graphic logos.
My favorite street car, The Green Hornet
As a side note, I have no photos of Wolf facing the camera because he couldn't take his eyes off of all the choo choo's

How Do You Expedit?

Friends, I'd like to take a moment to recognize possibly one of the greatest organizational devices of the twenty-first century. The Expedit, a simple yet decorative approach to organizing your knick-knacks, records, toys, books, crafting supplies and so on. Does your home have an Expedit? I own two different units, one for holding our record collection and one in our hallway for displaying decor and my favorite books. Many of the people I follow on Instagram have Expedit's and have inspired me to further find ways to use them. Here are my favorite Expedit displays I have come across:

Artsy Fartsy Friday: Dick Bruna

Hope everyone is excited about the cooler weather we will be having this weekend, I can actually wear tights! Whoo hoo! Today is Friday and that means another artist, this weeks is Dick Bruna the creator of Miffy. Not familiar with the name? No worries, once you scan through My Bruna picks you will remember the cutie pie Miffy.

Isn't Mr. Bruna handsome with his mustache ?

 Miffy memory game peices.
 Burna stamp art.
 Fifty years of Miffy.

Best decorated hot air balloon? I think so!
My personal favorite of Dick Bruna.

Let's Go For A WeeRide

Good evening friends! Life is getting back to "normal" and I think we figured out Wolfie's lack of wanting to go to bed issues. We decided it was a bit of seperation anxiety from pop's when he was away for so long, and just needing a good ol' fashion bedtime story from him as well. Thank you dear friends for helping me out by texting and instagraming suggestions, I was almost starting to loose my marbles. Since sleep has been restored back in our home again we have been able to enjoy a few lazy days left before pops goes back into the class room. Long family walks, trips to the library, lots of snuggly movie nights, and daily bike rides have done us well.
I posted a photo a few days ago of me and Wolf on my bike, a lot of you asked what bike seat he was using. The seat is called WeeRide, it normally runs around $50 and they have a few diffrent models available.

Do you remember rind on the seat that was on the back of the bike? Me too and it scared me so much! This seat lets your tot see what you see, and Wolf thinks hes driving. So you wanna know if its comfy? Yes, thought with my style cruiser I do have to have my legs a little spread out more than the norm (minds out of the gutter folks), but hey I'm not  in the Tour de France. For an everyday family bike ride this seat is perfect.

I love Paul Frank Industries, so I begged my husband like a teenage for this helmet. Get your Skurvy helmet here.

Artsy Fartsy Friday: The Art Of Yo Gabba Gabba

If you don't have a little one in your home you might not know too much about the show Yo Gabba Gabba, but if you do have kiddos then you know how AWESOME the show is. As I was searching the World Wide Web for some non traditional Gabba goods, I bumped into some pretty nifty art.

Oh, Hey! I'm Home

Hey there friends, finally settled back at home again.  After living out of a suitcase for the past two weeks and mooching off my parents while my husband does a study program, I am back in Bloomington. I've been a wee stressed out since I have been home, Wolfie seems to think that being 90 minuets north means we are in a different time zone. As of right now this kid won't go to bed all sweet and cute like he did before. Maybe, I was spoiled before with his good bedtime routine, now he won't sleep unless I sit there and have a staring contest with him. Anyone have this problem? Is it because pops was out of town so long? Only time will tell and persistance I suppose. So, why all this explanation?  Well, I normally write after the kiddo goes to bed,but I have been so tired after getting him to sleep that I need to sleep.  So as things get back to normal around here, I will try to get back into my regular post. I have so many good thrift finds to share!

Cheers,
Deb
